Hot Vidya Balan at the Première of The Dirty Picture in Dubai

In 80s a video revolution happened and now everyone could watch whatever stuff he wanted within the confines of his home. Even porn was available on a button’s click. Even at that time the filmmakers didn’t use the sensuality of an actress and used a vamp for that matter. For tantalization, filmmakers always relied on vamps.

Time passed by, and later on actresses, themselves were portrayed as sex objects. Not to forget that they had a stiff competition with the international porn that every man was fond of. The dancing girl came and lured the charmers with skimpy costumes and lewd gestures.

Vidya Balan says, “Some of the scenes that these films, especially the south Indian ones had, were so suggestive that it sometimes gets shocking. Like this scene I saw of Silk Smitha trying to dance with the hero’s leg placed on her crotch. She is balancing herself on her hands and legs and moving off the floor. It is incredible.

And then there is this scene where she has to seduce a horse! So, there were many kinky scenes but they couldn’t go the whole hog. Makers started getting more and more creative and every film started including one such kinky song, hoping to get the audience into the theatre, at least for the sake of that song.”

Further she says, “I think this piqued the interest of every man…I am surprised that many of my so-called polished male friends, who look down on Bollywood, have all watched movies like Kanti Shah ke angoor. I think it was only in the 90s that heroines were allowed to be sexy. Suddenly it was okay to desire the heroine and not look at her just as someone who can be taken home to meet parents.”

There were many songs that could have been erotic but turned out sensual with a grace and elegance. Dhak Dhak, Chholi ke peeche, Kaate nahi katthe are some of them. Now the film industry and the audience have come a long way.

Natasha Khan, Vidya’s stylist, had claimed this on a television reality show where the fan is permitted to live the life of their favorite star for a day and interact with his or her best friends.

Aman, the biggest fan of Vidya had the chance to meet Vidya and her stylist Natasha. Natasha also spilled the beans on Vidya’s look in the movie The Dirty Picture.

Aman asked her if Vidya would gorge on her favourite parathas during the shoot of the film, to which came the reply, “Vidya is half- naked in the movie. She wasn’t allowed to eat all that!” Natasha also said, “The film is a very sleazy and sexual and to get the feel of the movie, the crew would crack dirty jokes amongst themselves!”

Vidya has always been criticized for her odd dressing sense and slightly over weight figure but despite this, she is always considered among top choices of producer-directors, if any meaningful, challenging role comes across which has substance for woman.

Right there from the starting, Vidya has done challenging roles like in “Parineeta”, “Bhool Bhulaiya”, “Lage Raho”, “Halla Bol” and latest in “Paa” and Vidya is still continuing this. The latest buzz is that Vidya is signed for two very challenging roles in two big films . One is “Aamir” fame director Rajkumar Gupta’s ” No One Killed Jessica” which is based on real story, on life of model Jessica Lal.

Vidya is playing the character of Jessica’s brave sister, Sabrina Lal who continued restless fighting until she got justice for her sister’s murder. Actress Rani Mukherjee is also playing a pivotal role in the movie. The second one is director Milan Luthra’s “The Dirty Picture” which is based on the real story of lonely life spent by southern sex bomb “Silk Smitha”.

Vidya will do the title role, Silk Smitha. TV queen Ekta Kapoor is producing the film. “No One killed Jessica’s” shoot has already started and recently an important shoot sequence was done at AIIMS campus where as “The Dirty Picture” will go on the floor very soon.

Apart from the above too, Vidya has Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ” Chenab Gandhi” in hand where she will share screen space with “Sach ka saamana ” fame actor Rajiv Khaderwal and Big B.

It seems Vidya is slowly paving her success path in bollywood and could be a big threat to other actresses in near future.
