Priyanka Chopra and Kangna Ranuat have proven their excellence by winning most precious award of Indian Cinema – The National Award for reality filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar’s their last year film “ Fashion”. Priyanka wins National award for best actress where as Kangana wins National award for best supporting actress.

Last week when awards were announced, Piggi Chops were busy shooting for Sazid Nadiawala’s upcoming flick “ Anjana Anjani” in New York. She spoke right from there she said, “I’m thrilled that I’ve won a National Award so early in my career.

Yes, in her nine years in Bollywood, Priyanka has already notched up some truly remarkable work in films like Fashion and Kaminey. “Fashion is a special film to me. When Madhur narrated the script to me, I knew Meghna Mathur (my character) would leave her mark. While I picked up many awards for this performance including the Filmfare trophy, the National Award came as a natural culmination for a role I truly believed in. I’m grateful to Madhur for his faith in me.

“Fashion was there competing with the best of regional cinema; and then to have still bagged an honour is something that gives me a terrific high. I’m on cloud nine,” she said and added, “I’m happy for my co-actor Kangna Ranaut without who this character wouldn’t be as effective as it was. Congratulations to her also.

On the other side, Kangana celebrated this grand success by treating herself with her favorite ice creames. Kangana is also keeping her fingers crossed for her upcoming flick Hrithik Roshan Starrer “Kites” and Piggi Chops will be seen in Frahan Akhtar’s much awaited thriller Don 2 and Zoya Akhtar’s “ Kismat Talkies”. So both the gorgeous ladies are on the mark to much more success…

In this film, Priyanka will play roles of seven different wives & seven mail actors will work opposite her.

During a media interview director Vishal Bhardwaj told that he was so impressed with Priyanka’s performance in “Kaminey” that in spite of having such a small role of simple ordinary girl, Priyanka gave life to marathi girl sweety’s character amazingly which is proof of her strong acting capabilities.

When Priyanka joined bollywood in year 2000, no one had imagined that she will reach on top one day but this bariley beauty worked really hard, improved her performance with each next film and proved her. Today she has worked with most of the top layer
Directors of bollywood. Also, She earned filmfare best actress award last year for Madhur Bhandarkar’s “Fashion”. Big News is that Piggi Chops has acquired a brand new stylish look recently and instead of long middle length hairs what she used to have, now she got new shoulder length hair cut and highlighted them with blue colored steaks. When Priyanka Chopra was first caught with her new funky look in HDIL India Couture Week in Mumbai and was asked about it, she told media that’s it just for herself to add some fun to life.

Pretty lady mentioned, “ Oh, this is not for any movie. I have done it for myself. All these years I have been doing something or the other for a movie, but these blue streaks are just for fun. An idea that occurred to me randomly and I went ahead with it………. “There are times when you want to do something different; I guess that is where the idea came from.” Priyanka was actually there to cheer up his designer friend Manish Malhotra.

This prestigious award is given to young individuals who have contributed extraordinary work in their relevant fields (sports, arts, entertainment, politics, entrepreneurship, technology, social welfare etc and this year female Youth Icon award was won by Priyanka and Male Youth Icon Award was won by Hrithik Roshan. However, Katrina Kaif , Rahul Bose and Farhan Akhtar were also nominated for the award.

The same day, before the award function, in an interview with IANS, Priyanka said: “Youth icon is a huge word. Today’s generation, my generation is a very impatient one. “It wants everything fast and mediocrity doesn’t work for this generation. They are quick to dismiss something that doesn’t work for them. “So to be a youth icon for this generation, which has very high standards, feels great.”
