Through famous launching pad of the film industry – “The Bhatt Camp”, Model Sonal Chauhan kicked off her dream door of bollywood. Best known as Jannat girl, Sonal Chauhan first came into limelight after being a noteworthy finalist in Miss India contest 2005. Later Sonal won the Miss World Tourism title and was the first Indian to win the title.

After that, Sonal Chauhan entered into modeling world. She endorsed some of the top brands as Diet Pepsi, Nokia, Ponds, Lays and Hero Honda. Sonal also appeared in Himesh Reshamiya’s hit music video “ Aap Kaa Suroor”.

Originally belonging to Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh , Sonal Chauhan was born and brought up in Delhi and studied in DPS Noida, later Sonal studied philosophy honors from Gargi College, Delhi. Though Sonal never got support from her family for joining showbiz , she worked hard and made a distinct place in tough and competitive modeling world.

While modelling for some ad, Mahesh Bhatt saw Sonal Chauhan and got impressed; Bhatt offered her the female lead role, “Zoya” for the movie “Jannat” opposite Emraan Hashmi. Sonal accepted the offer and started her acting career. Film was a super hit and audience appreciated Sonal’s looks, style and performance. Since then Sonal has been seen as a promising new comer in the bollywood.

After “Jannat”, Sonal Chauhan has recently completed a Kannada film “Cheluvine Ninna Nodalu” in which, she has teamed up with southern actor Shivrajkumar. The film has a song worth Rs.6 million which was shot at the Seven Wonders of the World.

Also Sonal Chauhan will be paired opposite John Abraham in much awaited movie “Blue”. It has been reported that sonal said no to many offers after Jannat, which also includes Mahesh Bhatt’s “Jashan” but said yes to Blue. Infact, Sonal herself approached director Tony D’Souza and expressed interest in role.

Nevertheless, Sonal has been singed on by legendary painter MF Hussain’s son Owais Hussain for his directorial debut. The film will be a fairy tale of sorts set in modern times. Anurag Sinha (black & White fame) will be paired opposite Sonal in this film.

Few days back, Sonal suffered a minor burn injury while shooting for Owais’s film in Punjab. And currently she is taking medication and recovering fast in Chandigadh.

Recently media reported that someone had launched a fake website apparently pretending to be Sonal Chauhan as Sonal was about to launch her own website, sonal took cyber crime law department help and finally they caught the culprit.

If we talk about her real life, Sonal is a happy go lucky type gal.  She likes variety of foods and perfumes and goes for shopping whenever she is free.  Sonal is a big animal lover too.
