The pretty lady Soha Ali Khan is reportedly signed by the veteran filmmaker Deepa Mehta for her latest project Midnight’s Children which is based on Salman Rushdie’s Booker Prize winner novel in the same name.

There is a buzz in the B town that salman was so pleased to get the news of Soha’s involvement with the project that he flew to Mumbai and personally met the gorgeous actress who has yet to taste the sweetness of success.
Being a part of the film, Soha Ali Khan is obviously too excited. Her ecstasy knew no limits when she was called upon by Salman to meet personally as she was going to enact one of the most interesting characters of the novel on screen. Needless to say how happy Soha Ali Khan would be to a part of her first International project with names of such biggies associated with it.

Sources from the industry were quoted saying about the bond that Soha Ali Khan and Rushdie shared on their first meeting. Rushdie wanted to narrate the precise details of the character which Soha was going to play in the film. He told everything he had in his mind while he created the character. Moreover he was happy that Soha was playing an important character in the film which has the base of his novel – Midnight’s Children.
Deepa knows that the writer of the novel Salman Rushdie would love the idea of being updated and well informed about the proceedings of the project and so she has consistently kept him in loop. In this way Salman could be always there to know about the developments in the project. It was Salman’s wish to see and know even the minutest of details before the film goes on floor.
When contacted to Soha, she confessed happily that she had a meeting with the author. Her happiness of the meeting was much visible by her facial expression. They had chatted for long and discussed her character in the film. Rushdie and Soha both were glad to discuss the project where Rushdie told his perspectives behind writing the novel and Soha’s character. Soha was all praises for Rushdie as she is a big fan of the novelist. She told him that Midnight’s Children had been her favorite novel.
