Multi talented, singer turned actress daughter of legendary actors Kamal Hasan and Sarika, Shruti Haasan, made her debut in bollywood via multi starer Luck opposite “Jane Tu Ya Jane Na” fame Imraan Khan. but despite of new story line and huge advertising, neither Shruti’s nor Imraan’s Luck favoured and film got to be a big flop at the box-office.

Since then, Shruti Haasan has not appeared in any hindi film till now but soon she will make her grand debut in southern film industry where her father Kamal Haasan is respected like God. Shruti has already been signed for two films: one is Gajhini’s succesful director, A R Murgadoss’s next film for which he has casted Shruthi opposite original Ghajini hero and superstar Suriya and other one is a telegu fantasy film titled “Yodha” directed by Prakash Kovelamudi who had won national flim award for his first venture, a short feature film “Bommalata”. “Yodha” will be Prakash’s debut film. Actor Sidhartha Narayan & actress Shriya Sharma will be Shruti’s co stars in the movie.
Before being launched as an actress, Shruti worked as a professional singer and composer. Shruti started singing since childhood. Her first song was for movie Thevar Magan under great music director Illayaraaja at the early age of six. Next, she sang for Chachi 420 & Hey Ram as a child artist. Then, she sang for Tamil movies ‘En Mana Vaanil’ & ‘Vaaranam Aayiram’. She has composed a private music album as well which will be releasing soon this year. Latest, she sang a song in her first Hindi movie, Luck. Apart from singing, Shruti has also composed music for her father’s film, Unnaipol Oruvan released in 2009.
