As her last name and talent speaks itself, Shruti is elder daughter of evergreen –legendary actor Kamal Haasan and beautiful actress Sarika.

Shruti did her studies from Chennai and Mumbai. Psychology was her major subject in graduation. She was passionate about music and she changed her mind set, went to United States to learn music at Musicians Institute, California and earned a professional degree in Music . She has also said to have learnt “North Indian Classical Music”.

Just twenty three years old, Shruti Haasan started off her career as a singer from his father’s Tamil film Illaiyaraaja and received positive reviews from music critics. She stepped into bollywood playback singing from superhit comedy movie of his father , Chachi 420. She has also sung in her father’s film Hey Ram. Her recent song was in tamil movie Vaaranam Aayiram.

Curently, Shruti heads the rock band Extramentals as the lead vocalist . Never the less, multi talented Shruti is also composing music for her father’s tamil film Unnaipol Oruvan which is a remake of successful hindi movie A Wednesday.

Last days Shruti & Raghav Sachhar launched their music album “ Jane DO Naa” with Cornetto ice cream Hotel Taj Land’s End.

Along with singing Shruti started modeling also and appeared in famous magazines like Frappe and Verve. Shruthi also did a cameo in her father’s movie Hey Ram. During modeling Shruti was offered lead role in some films from big banners but young lady refused them then in 2007 media reported that Shruti is going to be launched opposite R Madhwan in 2008 but film was shelved later.

Now Shruti is Kicking off her bollywood acting career from director Soham Shah’s upcoming action – thriller Luck , in which she is going to be paired with young and energetic , teen sensation – Emraan Khan. Media reports that Shruti is also going to sing a song in the movie under guidance of successful music director Pritam Chakraboty.

So it can be said Apart from being the daughter of national actor and beautiful talented actress mother, Shruti Haasan is much more and talented young beauty has made her ground by her own.
