Every Year, Thousands of girls come to try their luck in “City of dreams- Mumbai” from small towns of every corner of country with a hope to be an actress and get lost in this fast running, crowded and competitive bollywood but few make their own way in these busy roads, stand out and convert their dreams into reality. Undoubtedly, the talented emerging actress Neetu Chandra has done the same.
Neetu Chandra is from a middle class family resides in Patna, Bihar. Neetu has no Godfather in Industry but talented young actress is constructing her own way gradually in clever and tough showbiz.
During her graduation days in Delhi IP College, Neetu did few modeling assignments for renowned brands and one day decided to come to Mumbai.
Neetu’s First film was Garam Masala, in which she played the small but interesting role of an air hostess Sweety. 2 years later, Neetu got a challenging and distinct role of a poor girl who lives her life in a traffic signal, in reality filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar’s award winning critically acclaimed movie Traffic Signal. Through this film, Neetu earned recognition among all, media, audience, critics and directors.
In 2008, Neetu appeared as a leading lady opposite Abhay Deol in Oye Lucky Lucky Oye!!!. Film was well received by audience and Neetu’s performance was appreciated. Last year, Neetu also appeared in comedy One Two Three.
The year 2009 has been proved lucky for Neetu so far. Neetu’s Tamil film, Yavarum Nalam with Madhwan released this year and was declared a major hit. Recently, the Hindi remake of this movie 13B got released and did well here too. Nevertheless, it is heard that Hollywood studio Weinstein Company is keen to buy the remake rights of the movie.
Neetu Chandra contains versatility in her. Apart from modeling and movies, Neetu is very good sportsperson too. She is a black belt holder in Taekwondo. She earned a national games Silver Medal winner in Taek-won-do. Nevertheless, She has represented India in International Taekwondo Championship at Hong Kong in 1996 and represented India in World Korfball Championship in 1995 at New Delhi.
Currently, Neetu has quite good projects in hand including most awaited and
controversial film of Ram Gopal Verma’s Rann, in which she will share screen space with Big B and Ritesh Deshmukh. The second one is Jag Mundhra’s Apartment in which Neetu is playing lead character, the challenging role of a mentally disturbed girl.
The others upcoming movies are Zara Jee Ke Dikha, Kushar Parsaad Ka Bhoot and Mumbai Cutting.
Latest scoop in media is that Neetu did a hot and raunchy photo shoot in bikini for a fashion magazine.
So, this hot and versatile Bihari Bala is stepping into the bright way of success and slowly reaching to stardom.
