Our very own dusky Indian beauty Frieda Pinto is a world famous actress post Slumdog Millionaire. Her recognition and fame had seen no limits after the release of the film. Her international film career is flourishing by leaps and bounds these days. She is extremely busy with the projects she has in her hands. But ask the lass about her plans to do a Bollywood film and she denies it candidly. According to her she does not fit in the category of Bollywood heroines. In a recent interview she said, “I have done no film in India so it is very hard for people to accept me as an actress. They don’t really know who I am or they probably don’t take me too seriously.”

This might be true also as after the release of Slumdog Millionaire she didn’t get any direct offer from any renowned directors of Hindi film industry. On the contrary, Hollywood accepted the actress and poured many projects to her. She got an instant fame there and is now among the most sought after actresses of Hollywood. “I haven’t been directly approached to do a Bollywood film. After Slumdog Millionaire I was given scripts to read but was not directly approached. I don’t think I fit the bill”, she was quoted saying in an interview.
As of now Frieda is busy with two international projects in her hands. One project is of the veteran Woody Allen titled ‘You will meet a Tall Dark Stranger’ and the other is a sci fi thriller ‘Rise of the Apes’ where she is acting opposite Spider Man’s fame James Franco. She says that Hollywood is more accepting than Bollywood. She also maintains that she does not get chased around here in India. “They definitely have accepted me much more willingly than in India. I am not famous in India”, she says.
Recently this leggy lass’ break up with her beau Rohan Antao became a scandal. It was a buzz that she dumped her boy friend for her flourishing career. Whatever might be, but the girl feels that she was right in leaving her boyfriend and concentrating on her career. The Western media who filled pages of appreciation of Frieda after her first film did not hesitate to term her as a heart breaker after she broke her engagement with Rohan. According to some reports they were even secretly married. However she has no qualms about her past. She says, “I feel what I did was right.”
These days this sultry actress is seeing her co star of Slumdog Millionaire Dev Patel. She says that after her first break up she has grown in life. Incidentally enough in her upcoming Woody Allen film she is playing the character of a girl Diya who is an exotic musicologist and leaves her fiancé for her newly found love.
