Lots of actresses come into Bollywood, but are soon forgotten due to an unsuccessful first film. However, things proved to be very different for Amrita Rao, who, even after giving a flop film at debut, managed to stay alive in Bollywood. Even though her co-star is nowhere to be seen nowadays, Amrita has stuck around and been a part of a number of successful ventures. At one point she was even considered to be a lucky charm and it was said that whatever movie she was a part of, would become a hit!

After her disastrous first film, Amrita took some time off and did her homework well. She was back soon and seen in the movie Ishq Vishk, opposite Shahid Kapoor. She was very well accepted in the film, which made her a star overnight. That was only the beginning for Amrita, who then went on to star in big movies with the biggest superstars of the country like Shahrukh Khan and Ajay Devgan. Her performance in Masti, where she played a nagging housewife, showed her talent wonderfully and she was soon accepted as a good actress. She then went on to do Main Hoon Naa with SRK and Sushmita Sen, a film that proved to be one of the biggest hits in Bollywood.
Amrita Rao has ever since done some great films. She was a part of the award winning film Vivah, and she herself was nominated for a number of awards for the film. Her most frequent onscreen partner has been Shahid Kapoor, and at one time it was even rumored that the two of them were in a relationship. However, like always, they both said they were just “good friends”. Amrita is very selective about the roles she plays, and as a result is only seen in one or two movies a year. Her last release, Welcome to Sajjanpur was a critical as well as commercial success and it won her a lot of praises.
Amrita is often seen accompanied by her mother on the sets. She has even been called a baby for this, but she does not seem to care. She has a great attitude and innocence that makes her very adorable. Her beautiful face and very well toned body also adds to her oomph factor, making her the queen of hearts.
